從 約 拿 書 四 章 2 節 看 經 文 本 如 何 相 互 參 照 與 解 釋

約拿是一位成功的先知，但他對神發出悲痛的抱怨，似乎是一種不相稱的反應。他說：耶和華啊，我在本國的時候，豈不是這樣說嗎？我知道你是有恩典、有憐憫的神，不輕易發怒，有豐盛的慈愛，並且後悔不降所說的災，所以我急速逃往他施去（拿四2）1 。約拿的宣佈，跟舊約一些地方所表達神嚴厲的屬性不同；舊約中對神普遍的觀念是神要求人完全順服，否則就要面對嚴重的審判；這點跟新約對神的描述也不一樣。而約拿對神顯然有另一種見解。 |
若要問約拿怎麼會有這樣的信念，答案就在眼前。約拿是一連串聖經真理啟示的領受者，這些啟示表明耶和華不僅是一位用聖潔和公義管理世界的神，祂也是一位有恩典、有憐憫的神，伴隨著祂的，就是忍耐和寬宏的屬性。祂伸手幫助貧乏的人，並期望人得到最好的。因此，約拿能夠理解並對早已認識的啟示作出回應。
約拿的個案，凸顯聖經作者利用較早期的聖經文本，是一個當時已有的事實。新約作者大量選用舊約經文，是近期新約多冊經文註釋中，也直接、間接有所討論的2。
我們必須留意，在約拿書中，後期的舊約作者借用了早期的資料來源。就如比爾（Beale）和卡森（Carson）所言：「在舊約裡使用舊約」。因此，馬森（Mason）稱之為「內在聖經註釋」，他指出：「顧名思義，這種方法本身所顯示的是重新使用、重新解釋、重新應用早期舊約的文本」。
舊約中互相參照引用舊約經文的例子
舊約的先知書中，可以看到許多使用前期資料的例子。其中一個例子就是西番雅使用約珥的資料，如下表所示：

值得注意的是，西番雅書使用的詞彙，也可在約珥書中找到：
14節「臨近」 (參珥一15，二，三14[HB 4:14]—「臨近/將到」) ；「大日」 (參珥二11，二31[HB 3:4] - 大而可畏的日子)
15節「黑暗」 (參珥二2、31[HB三4]) ； 「幽冥」 (參珥二2) ；「密雲」 (參珥二2) ；「烏黑」 (參珥二2)
16節「吹角」 (參珥二1、15)
18節「這地的一切居民」 (參珥二1，「國中的居民」)
西番雅書使用的題材、主題和詞彙，明顯是依賴約珥的預言。而且像其他較後期的作者一樣，西番雅將早期先知約珥的預言擴展了。
同樣，何西阿書六章6節似乎是引用撒母耳的聲明（撒上十五22～23）：「以色列昏亂的信仰，與及已死的傳統得不到神的喜悅。」若將兩卷書並排，關係是顯而易見的：
